I’m Megan. I currently live in Washington with my husband, two kids and our 2 dogs. Sam and I first met in high school back in 2009. We married soon after that in June of 2011. Sam was in the Army so we were fortunate enough to spend our first year of marriage living in Germany and traveling all over Central Europe! It was at that time that our passion for travel really started to develop!
We returned to Minnesota to begin college and in the middle of both of us pursuing degrees we welcomed our son, Odin, in December of 2014. We both finished college and then welcomed our daughter, Aspen, in 2016. Sam was a stay at home Dad while I worked as a nurse in the hospital setting. In August of 2017 we made the cross country move to the Kitsap Peninsula in Washington State! It took months of interviewing and prep work but we made it happen!
It has been the most crazy and amazing thing we have done for our family! We needed a change in our life and this was exactly it. Our hopes for the move were to be able to spend more time as a family, expose the kids to more of the world, downsize our life, and get lots of time outdoors exploring the beautiful Pacific Northwest. We have been trying to use electronics/ technology less and really enjoy being in the moment. It has turned out better than we could have ever imagined!
Sam is now working full time and really enjoys his work! I stay home with the kids and dogs. We are in our second year of home educating! Our kids attend a forest school and we love taking our learning outdoors. The rain doesn’t stop us. If you have the right gear the rain can be just as fun!
This is our journey, building a life that we don’t need a vacation from!
