Ranger Hole
Olympic National Forest has some great hikes for every skill level. At just under three miles Ranger Hole is perfect for a nice morning hike with kids! The trail follows the Duckabush river down to a historic fishing spot (Ranger Hole) used by the first ranger stationed at Interrorem Cabin in Olympic National Forest.
Interrorem cabin was built in 1907. It was the first administrative site for the Olympic National Forest. It was built by a Ranger for his wife and they lived there for several years. The cabin has served different purposes throughout the years. Currently, it is being used as a rental!
This beautiful forest trail is so peaceful as you can hear the river along the hike. It is easy with only one slightly steep area to hike up.
When you make it to Ranger Hole there are two different viewpoints of the river. Both make for pretty good spots to stop for a snack! The water is such a brilliant shade of blue! Unfortunately, there wasn’t a safe spot to get down to the river. Freya was very unhappy as she just wanted to swim!
So thankful for fresh air and fun family hikes just a short trip away!
On to the next adventure…
