Adventures with Family

As fall has arrived here in the PNW, I can’t help but reflect on all the fun we had this summer. We have gone on so many memorable adventures and I can’t wait to see what new things we discover this fall! Lots of adventures with family have provided us with some wonderful memories for our first full summer living on the Kitsap Peninsula.

Point no Point is one of the best sandy beaches in Kitsap. There is a fair amount of sea glass to be found as well! I could beach comb there for hours while the kids play. There is no shortage of sea treasures to find or driftwood to play with. Mount Rainier was out and the Seattle skyline visible!

Sequim is quickly becoming a place I love to spend time. Dungeness Spit is awesome! It is a roughly 6.8 mile long sand spit jutting out from the Olympic Peninsula into the Strait of Juan de Fuca. It is the longest natural sand spit in the states. We did not make it out to the lighthouse but hoping that is something we can accomplish in the future. Twelve miles round trip is a long hike for us with the kids so this time we just enjoyed hiking out a mile or so and playing on the driftwood.

Lots of fun hiking with family ( Sarah, Tom, Parker & Jaidyn). We took a hike up to Sunrise Point on Hurricane Ridge. The views were spectacular. We really couldn’t have asked for a better day! We even enjoyed a picnic lunch. This is one of my favorite spots in Olympic National Park. If you come visit us, expect a trip here!

We hiked down to Guillemot Cove. Everyone enjoyed exploring the beach at low tide and the stump house!

Green Mountain was a little overcast when we went but it was still a great hike! Hiking with 4 kids under 5 is no easy task! The kids all did awesome, proud of them!

We spent a rainy morning exploring Foulweather Bluff. We were all pretty excited to find our biggest Sea Star yet!

The water at the Silverdale waterfront was incredible. It was like glass. We were discovering a lot of sea life – barnacles and jellyfish to name a few!

The Olympic Game Farm was a blast! Wild game + 6 loafs of bread + good company + 1 drool covered car = some hilarious memories!

So thankful for all the memories made on our adventures with family over the summer.

On to the next adventure…
