SUP!

Sam surprised me with stand up paddle boards (SUP) a few weeks ago! Of course they came right as I was starting my work stretch so we didn’t even get out to use them immediately! The timing was good though as we had family coming into town from MN! Sam’s sister Sarah and her family came out for a few days to visit. (husband: Tom, kids: Parker and Jaidyn) We spent a beautiful day at Lake Crescent in the Olympic National Park trying out our new paddle boards! Lake Crescent is a glacier lake and is known for its brilliant blue waters and exceptional clarity.

We knew we wanted to get some kind of water toys that we would be able to enjoy with the kids. There is so much water here it’s hard not to want to get out on it! We debated kayaks, paddle boards and canoes but decided paddle boards would be the best option for now. They are great for use in the inlets as well as on the lakes. We can easily take the kids out with us and it is still something that we could use on our own too! They are light enough that it doesn’t take both of us to move them around. We had an absolute blast trying them out. I was the only one in our group who had even been on a SUP before! It was fun watching everyone experience something new!

Tom had never been kayaking before so he rented a kayak for the afternoon as well. We took turns going out on the paddle boards and kayak! We even tried out a double kayak! I can’t think of a more beautiful spot to try kayaking. The water was just incredible and not near as cold as you would think! Although tourist season, the beach was not very crowded either which is a huge plus.

The kids also enjoyed some time playing on the beach while the dads went for a ride into the cove! I just can’t get over the beauty of this place.

So thankful for a beautiful day on the lake and watching everyone have such fun!

On to the next adventure…
