Last week we had the pleasure of visiting the Tulip fields in Skagit Valley. It was a beautiful day filled with lots of exploring and beautiful mountain views!
We woke the kids up early to catch the short 30 minute ferry from Port Townsend to Whidbey Island. We were surprised to see so much farm land and rural areas on Whidbey. Reminded us of Minnesota. Odin loved seeing all the tractors like Grandpa Bunde’s. From Whidbey Island we made the drive through Deception Pass to Fidalgo Island and then on to our final destination, Mount Vernon, for the Tulip Festival!
The tulip fields were huge!! It was so much fun walking through the fields and admiring all the beautiful color of the Tulips! It sure was muddy though, glad we were prepared. The kids sure had a blast walking in the mud and splashing in the puddles. It was so fun watching the kids take it all in. We sure live in a beautiful place.
We spent some time at RoozenGaarde in the morning and stopped for a picnic lunch at the park before heading to Tulip Town. Tulips (yellow) are my absolute favorite flower. This was a bucket list item for me so I am happy to be able to check that off the list!
As if the day wasn’t amazing enough already, we stopped to explore Deception Pass State Park. It was amazing and we will definitely going back to spend some more time. Some quick hiking and playing on the beach was a great end to our day! We finally made it home after a 13 hour day of exploring and we were all more than ready for bed!!
So thankful to have a husband who doesn’t complain about all the crazy adventures I want to go on, but instead finds a way to make it the best day ever for us!
